About us

Christine Geschwill, CPDT-KA has been working with dogs for over 20 years, first training her own dogs, and then graduating on to working with rescue dogs for a local animal rescue group.  Through one-on-one training with dogs to in-home training with adoptive families, she has helped to rehabilitate dozens of dogs.

Christine has a Bachelor's Degree in Education, as well as a Certificate in Environmental Studies, and has several years classroom experience, making her uniquely qualified to teach individuals how to train and handle their own pets.

Christine is a Certified Profession Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed, a Proud Member of the Pet Professional Guild, and a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and has attended numerous dog training seminars and workshops with some of the leading names in dog training, including Ian Dunbar, Sarah Kalnajs, Pat Miller, Grisha Stewart, Sue Sternburg, and Victoria Stilwell and has attended The Dog's Camp in Ashville, NC several times.  She takes continuing education seriously and keeps her outlook fresh by regular participation in national organizations, attendance of national conferences and the reading of professional publications.  In addition to her private training business, she is also an Instructor at the Dog Training Academy of South Florida.

Christine is a certified Canine Life and Social Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) evaluator, an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator and certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.  She is also a member of Dog Scouts of America (DSA), troop leader and a certified Dog Scouts Scoutmaster and an approved evaluator for several DSA badges.

Her oldest dog, HRH Princess Grace, a 14 year old mixed breed, has earned her Canine Good Citizen, her APDT Rally Level I (RLI) title, her AKC Rally Advanced (RA) title, AKC Agility Novice Jumpers & Standard Preferred (NAP & NJP) titles, Dog Scout Recognition (DSA), and her Therapy Dog International (TDI) Certification.  She passed the American Temperament Test Society (ATTS) Test and is currently an Animal Assisted Therapy Dog (ATT) with the Humane Society of Broward County's AAT Program as well as a member of their Canines for Community Resilience Program.  Additionally Grace is completing her training with the National Crisis Response Canines.  Grace has also had many acting and modeling jobs.  You can currently see her on the packaging for Brookstone's Pro Ion Filter, and on an episode of South Beach Tow. Grace has also done some stage work, performing locally in a stage production of Legally Blonde.  Grace is retired from competing in USDAA Agility, but continues to train regularly for continued strength and stamina.  She has won numerous First Place Ribbons!

Christine has also adopted a client's Beagle into her household. The client surrendered Bagel (now known as Clover) after having determined that dog ownership just wasn't for them. While her intent was to re-home Bagel, her long standing love for Beagle's won out. Clover is a 5 year old gorgeous Lilac Beagle. Clover is a Dog Scout and has earned her Novice Trick Dog Title. She too has begun an impressive modeling career and can be seen modeling in the Pajamagram calalog as well as on Wayfair.com, Petco and Ginny's.  She is currently working on her Therapy Dog skills, AND preparing for what promises to be a stellar Agility career!

Both Grace and Clover are currently training for competition Nosework.

“Christine is the epitomy of a professional, thoroughly experienced animal trainer and behaviorist. I have hired Christine on multiple occassions with various breeds of dogs with wonderful results. She is well prepared, punctual, knowledgable and her instruction is easily understood for the beginer to advanced student. Her fees are reasonable, classes are convenient and tailored for individual issues and interests. I would highly recommend Christine for individual or group classes, canine good citizen certification, as well as pet sitting."
